Raw File Workflow
presented by
John Pack

Important: Note the location. John Pack is presenting the program, but we're meeting in Brigham Mayfield's studio, Artistic Images. This is another in a series of programs to help you work smarter. Spend more time creating images; less time fighting production issues. John will walk us through examples of how he uses a raw file workflow in his portrait sessions. Photographers who stick with shooting jpegs often acknowledge the lesser image versatility or quality but cite raw workflow complications as not worth the effort. John will show you that quality differences are quite probably larger, and the workflow much simpler and more versatile, than you may realize. John works with Canon cameras and Phase One's Capture One software and will illustrate this in detail however much of the content of his presentation is generally applicable to other cameras and other raw processing software.

Future meetings: On July 13th, Tim Flanagan will present a program titled "For Love or Money" in July... a discussion of how being true to your passion for the art of photography can also be good for your bottom line. Tim Ostermeyer from Dallas will be here in September with his remarkable nature images and comments on how he markets them. Doug Box will motivate HOTPPG in November.

Print Exhibition

Last month was a very good start. The prints present stirred a lot of conversation among the group. That's the idea! Lets keep this ball rolling. Bring one print... any size, format or subject matter. All prints will be displayed with a method for fellow members to anonymously leave comments and score the images. This isn't really meant as a competition. Its intended as a way to spark constructive criticism among fellow photographers... one of the very best ways to improve your skills. That said, we want to encourage participation with interesting images. So we'll give an award at the end of the year to the photographer whose prints accumulated the highest total scores. Just participate every month and you're already well on the way to a high score.

meeting fee: no charge for members ($50 annual dues)
$10.00 non members. First time visitors, no charge.
