Maybe you use the internet to attract new business. Possibly its a tool to deliver support for traditional activities like providing customers with information on how to prepare for a session; or giving them a way to review proofs. Often a customer will see what's on your site before they have a chance to meet you or see your studio. What is the experience of viewing your site, or trying to find your non-existent site, telling this person about who you are? This is where Carla Lowe comes in. She's well known for constructing sites in an efficient manner. Sites that simply work and work very well. They're easy to navigate and very friendly to search engines. Her list of clients includes a number of photographers. Carla will walk us through the process of creating, and of equal importance... maintaining, an online presence for your business. Photographers seem to over think this process and make it way more complicated than it needs to be. Hopefully Carla and her simple, straightforward approach will change that. Whether you want to build your own web presence, or you choose to take Tim's advice from the last meeting and "delegate", Carla's message should help immensely. Please note that the September meeting will be on a different week. Tim will be here for the Dallas guild's Little Red Schoolhouse on September 19-20. He's going to stay an extra day so he can do our program on Tuesday September 21st. Doug Box is on the schedule for November 9th. Print Exhibition Keep 'em coming!. The prints present at the past couple of meetings have sparked a lot of conversation among the group. That's the idea! Bring one print... any size, format or subject matter. All prints will be displayed with a method for fellow members to anonymously leave comments and score the images. This isn't really meant as a competition. Its intended as a way to spark constructive criticism among fellow photographers... one of the very best ways to improve your skills. That said, we want to encourage participation with interesting images. So we'll give an award at the end of the year to the photographer whose prints accumulated the highest total scores. Just participate every month and you're already well on the way to a high score. meeting fee: no charge for members ($50 annual dues) $10.00 non members. First time visitors, no charge.
