Our speaker for July will be Burnie Glenn from the Dallas PPA. Also a member of TPPA, Burnie is PPA Certified, and currently working on his Masters degree. He was President of the Dallas organization last year, and still serves on their Board of Directors.
Burnie and his wife operate a successful residential studio in Dallas, and he specializes in weddings, portraits and glamour. Academically, he has a degree in Civil Engineering, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds an advanced Toastmasters degree, and has enjoyed public speaking for many years.
Burnie will be sharing some of his experiences relating to hundreds of weddings he has photographed over the years. Also included will be tips on methods of finding prospective bridal clients, the effectiveness of various marketing and advertising options, conducting telephone and in-person interviews, and how to persuade them to book you on the spot. In addition, Burnie will go over the items that should be in the ideal Contract.
Also included will be some step-by-step recommendations for the ideal sequence of photographing activities before, during and after the ceremony. Basic bridal and engagement portrait posing and lighting techniques will also be covered. A digital slide slow of images from such sessions will be presented, including ideas for incorporating glamour techniques into your everyday sessions.
