Carver Shivers, CPP, the son of a Tuskegee Airman, is also a former Air Force Fighter Pilot and NASA Engineer who started SHIVERS PHOTOGRAPHY in 1991. Carver specializes in Wedding and Portrait Photography offering a unique blend of distinctive and creative photographic imaging. In DEC 2000 Carver switched to the digital medium for weddings, but continues to use mainly large format film (4x5) for most portraits. Carver is an award winning photographer working towards his Master and Camera Craftsman degrees. His current digital camera is the Canon 20D system he uses for weddings. Carver is an active and contributing member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), The Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) The Southwest Photographers Association (SWPA) , the Texas PPA and served as the 2005 President of the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston (PPGH). Carver is also a pilot, aircraft owner, musician and Past State President of the Bronze Eagles Flying Club of Texas - an organization of minority pilots, former military and civilian; dedicated to introducing youth of color to the field of aviation and science. Carver discovered Painter in 1995. With his unique approach to portraiture augmented with the use of Painter, Carver created his Renaissance Portraiture. His style is reminiscent of the master portraitists of old but with his own touch of style. Carver markets life size Renaissance Portraits with Painter.
