March Meeting
Workflow Workshop
presented by Bob Smith
Tuesday, March 4th
location: Accurate Image, 2919 Mary, Waco
time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

As decided at the last meeting, we'll meet one week earlier than normal this month to accomadate spring break plans for several of our members

The idea for this program comes out of questions raised after the last several programs. Mark McCall talked about his use of web based proofs. Some of our members were asking for more info on how to make it work in their specific situation. I use web based proofs a lot in my operation and thought I would attempt to address some of these questions as well as a few other general workflow issues. This session will largely be driven by what attendees want to discuss related to specific workflows. Bring your laptop computer if you'd like and share an example of an issue you are facing.

Topics I'm planning to cover:
Basic Networking concepts... nothing complex, just enough to adequately understand how to get proofs onto an existing web site hosted by your internet service provider

Backup, Storage and Archiving strategies... without an organized strategy you can find yourself swamped with data and at high risk for losing valuable images.

A discussion of Adobe's new Camera Raw plug-in... this software brings an effective efficient raw workflow to shooters with a wide variety of digital cameras. It's especially good for Canon digital shooters. If you're not shooting raw files you're missing out on a great deal of the quality potential of your camera. Many avoid shooting raw because of the workflow hassles. This plug-in may be your answer.
